The EU finally got the message. With the upcoming ePrivacy reform, the endless click-marathon could soon be over.

Instead of pop-ups on every site, users will manage their consent once, directly in the browser – and that’s it.

Germany is already laying the groundwork with its new Consent Management Regulation (EinwV).

What does that mean?
– Privacy, yes – but without 27 clicks before you see the content.
– For data-driven CRM, it means matching web activity gets harder. If you want to link website behavior to email data, you’ll need explicit opt-ins or server-side strategies.
– The future is all about first- and zero-party data – building trust instead of relying on trick-tracking.
